7 SINS
I wanted to do something completely different from everyone else in my class because alot of them are into game design and i am far from that design industry i dont have much of an interest so...
i was thinking about the film Seven with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman classic in my eyes. This film is a psychological thriller about 2 detectives on the trail of a vicious serial killer who chooses his victims according to the 7 deadly sins. This film got me thinking How are these 7 sins dicated in the media?
or How people portray them? Do they know? Do they care? How many people use these sins to their advantage?
I like the fact this film does getting you thinking and keeps you thinking until you have found out.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH
This was another idea i was kinda participating in.... Dont you ever ask youself - When should you talk? - Is it the right time? - Would you affend someone with what you say?
OR should you just keep quiet and be unseen and NEVER be heard?
Is that right?
What is our country, no even world coming to? I think it rising to this silence where people just wont say what they really do think about certain things such as politics, the war in Iraq, fashion, crime etc.
But there are some people that do go out of their and they do say but does it even get heard? And even if you was heard would your words make that much of a difference to the situation?
I wanted to look at the aspects of people speaking out and how it affects the media in some way. Again with a psychological aspect of doing so, to get people thinking - Should i said out NOW?
Would you?
STEREOTYPES
This topic is huge. I know Dom did it last year but I think the topic is very popular and you can go on about anything literally, I think he did it on people and music I'm not too sure correct me if I'm wrong. I wanted to look at the way people are 'different'? What are they? Who are they? What does 'different' mean?
You have got your usual stereotypes Goths (dresses all in black - that is how it portrayed/ looks) Emos (same dresses all in black & acts depressed & want to die. Again this is how it presented to people) Chavs (causes trouble & swearing & wearing brand names) Doctors are stereotypes too where they wear the long white coat and the stethoscope around the neck for example.
This would probably follow in the way Dom did his F.M.P but this was a topic I have a very strong passion for and includes alot of thing s you can talk about.
LOVE, HATE & JEALOUSY
This topic was another big passion of mine, yes Raj can say its self indulge but tbh i dont care becuase these emotions are part of everyone's life and have a part in something they do or even say to day to day life.
What are they?
How do you feel these emotions?
Why?
These were the 3 main questions i asked myself when drawing a bubble diagram and thinking of what to do for my F.M.P. I hear people sometimes "OMG i love that colour!" or "I hate that with a passion", do you think those people actually know what they are saying about those objects?
I doubt it.
But it wasnt these things that triggered this idea, it was something that happened in my life that made me think of this idea and pushed me to look into it more I lost something, someone over these emotions so, How does love, hate or jealous push you to the extreme of losing something??
With this idea again I want to involve
psychological twist and get people thinking about their own emotions about things? Darren Brown is a very good example I watched him on channel 4 the other week and he had Simon Pegg (off Hot Fuzz and other films) on there and basically tricked him into wanted a BMX bike by using techniques when asking questions or talking to him. And this is what i would like to protray in this idea if i go forward with it. It's a good way of seeing things from a different view and seeing how people react. The Shock Factor in a way.
Emotions
Love and Hate
What do they do to you?
How do they make you feel?
Can they change your mind?
What do u REALLY feel?
